For those, not yet convinced of the primacy of surrealism to current visual culture, there is this article The Riddle of the Rocks by Jonathan Jones on surrealism in anticipation of upcoming exhibition Surreal Things: Surrealism and Design at the V&A, London, from March 29 to July 22 . “It was the art movement that shocked the world. It was sexy, weird and dangerous – and it’s still hugely influential today. ” Reading is compulsory! And let’s visit the exhibition, sometime after the spring break.
